Tamiya Super Champ

The Super Champ was Tamiya's first true attempt at making a racer. This 2WD off-roader had a monoshock rear suspension system with an oil reservoir and came with spiked rear tires and a fiberglass chassis. Unlike its previous off-road models, the Super Champ eliminated the radio box completely opting for a split level open platform. Similar to the AYK 566B, the Super Champ also sported an enclosed aluminum transmission case, aluminum shocks and also utilized a 540 size motor.

While Tamiya's Super Champ had a fair share of aluminum/cast parts, it had an uncreative drawback of using plastic zip ties to not olnly hold its rear cage together, but also to adjust its rear suspension.

Note that the pictures show our customized Super Champ with polished aluminum, carbon fiber trays and a 3rd party aluminum front bumper cage.
