The AYK Bobcat was basically identical to the Buffalo (and similar to its competitor, the Kyosho Tomahawk). It used the same chassis as well as front and rear suspension and transmission. Although the body style changed the weak points still remained. These included the loose camber, the weak internal gears and differential, as well as the lack of a radio box (thus exposing the internals to the elements via its open chassis design). During this time, 2WD buggies were starting to lose their steam and innovations started gearing themselves towards the 4WD market. |
